About Us

Using tinplate for presentation dates back to the 18th century. The production of tinplate was extended a monopoly in 1667 Andrew Yarranton, an English manufacture; of Bohemia, where ironmasters including Philip Foley improved it and Ambrose Crowley introduced the technique. By 1697, John Hanbury had a mill at Pontypool for making "Pontypoole Dishes". The strategy created thereof rolling iron dishes by means of cylinders permitted more uniform black plates to be generated than was possible using the former practice of working.
